The story of getting on, getting to, and being on Jeopardy!. I hope this will be interesting to folks who want to know what the experience was like, and helpful for those who'd like to be on the show.
As a kid, I can remember watching game shows like Joker's Wild and Split Second and, yes, Jeopardy! and thinking, "I can do that!" In 2003, I got my chance when I won $125,000 on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. On June 16, 2008, I appeared on Jeopardy!.
In real life, I'm Pastor at Christ Lutheran Church in Millersville, Maryland. Although I'm in my mid-40's, I've only been a pastor since 2008. I'm a "second-career" pastor; my first career was working with troubled youth and their families mainly as a Juvenile Probation Officer.
I am blessed to be the husband of a wonderful wife and the father of two awesome kids (14-year old daughter and 20-year old son).
Hi Dave, It's always a pleasure to relive this experience through someone else's eyes. Your descriptions are right on target! Thanks for the walk down "memory lane" even though it seems like just yesterday. I can't wait to see your episode(s?). Just this last week I met a new friend at our yearly church gathering. Turns out she had seen me on the show and knew I looked familiar. Those moments - unexpected and touching - are what make the whole Jeopardy experience a wonderful one. Blessings, Renee "MathMom"

It's always cool to see people that I know on Jeopardy! and thought that you played very, very well tonight! :-)
